Target Audience The Advances in Arthritis, Arthroplasty and Trauma Course has been designed specifically to provide orthopaedic surgeons, residents, fellows, physical therapists, physician assistants and orthopaedic nurses with an outstanding educational opportunity, exposing participants to the most advanced information and procedures in orthopaedics. Topics are also very informative for nurses, physician assistants, physical therapists, and occupational therapists. We have built upon our continued success and outstanding reputation of over nine years designing state of the art courses, second to none. Statement of Need This course is provides orthopaedic surgeons, residents, fellows, physical therapists, physician assistants and orthopaedic nurses with an outstanding educational opportunity, exposing participants to the most advanced information and procedures in orthopaedics. Learning Objectives As a result of attending the course, participants will be able to: -
Describe recently developed principles and techniques in the treatment of lower extremity trauma and sport related injuries -
Identify new medical and surgical options available for the young arthritic patient. -
Outline the principles of pelvic, femoral and tibial osteotomies -
Outline recently developed surgical principles and techniques for the difficult hip and knee replacement -
Describe the recently developed principles and techniques in revision hip and knee reconstruction -
Discuss how to minimize and treat complications of arthroplasty and trauma procedures -
